THE 2023 BECE TAKES OFF IN THE SHAI- OSUDOKU DISTRICT.
This year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) has taken off without any incident in the Shai-Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region.
A total number of Two thousand, three hundred and forty three(2343) candidates in the District are sitting for this year’s examination which 1160 are males and 1183 are females.
A monitoring team visited all eight examination centers in the district (Ghanata, Osutech, Ayikuma, and Doryumu). The team comprises the Presiding Member for the Shai-Osudoku District Assembly, Hon. Noah Sabutey, the Member of Parliament for the Constituency Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo, accompanied by the District Director of Education Madam Harriet Lomotey, and her team from the education Directorate.
Hon. Noah Sabutey speaking on behalf of the District Chief Executive Hon. Fred Offei congratulated all the candidates and wished them well. He also brought them a goodwill message from the DCE.
He urged the candidates to refrain from examination malpractices and further explain to them that the examination is merely a time to give an account of all that they have been taught over the years.
He advised them to continue to stay with their books till the exams is over, adding that they should refrain from all forms of antisocial behavior and concentrate on their books.
The Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku Constituency Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo also urged the candidates to sacrifice these few days to study in order to come out with flying colours.
She further stated that this is the foundation they need in order to become great people in the future.
She cautioned them not to involve in any activity that will jeopardize the future.
The District Education Director Madam Harriet Lomotey commended the candidates for comporting themselves before the examination adding that they should desist from all unruly behavior that would spell doom for their academic future.
She said the BECE examination was currently the most important examination in the series of examinations on the academic ladder and therefore they should work hard since that's their first certificate to achieve in their lives.
She advised them not to rush to finish the exams but to exhaust their allocated time critically, reviewing their work before submission.
