Community Dwellers Cautioned to Maintain Protocols.
The education team of the Public Health Emergency Committee from the Shai-Osudoku District Assembly comprising the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mad. Janet Wahiermeh, the District Information Officer Ms Cornelia Asante, District Director of Health Services, Rev.Ebenezer Asiamah, District Director of Education, Mrs Elizabeth Awoonor-William's have embarked upon a random working tour of the District to caution inhabitants of the area to wear their nose mask whilst observing the other protocols.
A notable feature of the exercise was the random distribution of personal protective equipment to the schools in the District.
The exercise has been necessitated by the emergence of the second wave of the virus which is set to cause more devastation than the initial outbreak.
The observance of the precautionary measure has become even more relevant following the latest address to the nation by President Nana Addo- Danquah Akufo Addo on Covid-19 restrictions.
The team made a random visit to specific notable areas to deliver the message on the need to observe the protocols which also included washing of hands, social distancing, among others.
Interacting randomly with community dwellers, District Director of Health Services quizzed people who were unmasked and said the Assembly was clamping down on such people.
He said whilst the police had been cautioned to penalize persons without mask nationwide, the assembly had deployed a task force to enforce compliance of wearing of nose mask.
District Chief Executive, Hon. Daniel Akuffo has cautioned community dwellers of the ban on social gatherings such as funerals, beaches, weddings etc..
The DCE emphasized the messaging that observation of the protocols, especially masking up, was the only way to contain the spread.
